Boxercise is an exercise class based on the training concepts boxers use to keep fit. Classes can take a variety of formats but a typical one may involve shadow-boxing, skipping, hitting pads, kicking punchbags, press-ups, shuttle-runs and sit-ups. Most boxercise classes are aimed at men and women of all ages and fitness standards. As no class involves the physical hitting of an opponent, it is a fun, challenging and safe workout.

Heartmoves

Heart Foundation Heartmoves is a gentle physical activity program suitable for anyone who hasn’t done any exercise in a while. You can exercise at your own pace in a friendly atmosphere. Heartmoves is open to everyone and is designed to be safe for people with stable long term health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes or obesity.
Heartmoves is run by accredited exercise professionals specifically trained in managing safe, low to moderate intensity physical activity programs. Classes are limited in size to ensure maximum safety for the participants.

Pilates

 

Pilates is a conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, strength and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing and developing a strong core centre, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates’ system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

Preggie Bellies

Preggi Bellies run pregnancy aerobics exercise classes at Balmain Fitness. The exercises are designed for pregnant women and are fun exciting and safe and have been developed by Physiotherapists. The program draws inspiration from the latest research, exercise trends and valuable feedback from over 12,000 participating pregnant and post-natal members over 14 years!
